  Personal information:
Back in my student days, after saving for a long time, I was finally able to afford my first continental vacation in 1995. My first destination was Mexico, specifically Mexico City.

Upon arrival, I was immediately captivated by the warmth and the amazing food, and spent a few days in Mexico City.

Afterwards, I headed to Veracruz for a few days. It wasn't very touristy, but it was a cool place where I met lots of nice people.

Last but not least, I went to Cancún in the Caribbean for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, jet skiing, and so on.

Even back then, you could sense a hint of crime, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it is today. I walked many miles through the city and never felt unsafe.

I would love to visit Mexico again!
